Quite interesting - I had no idea that those annoying "uh's" etc. had names and purposes. Errr.....thanks for the info!

It's interesting you describe those "uh's" as annoying.  My research suggests that they actually help a speaker to sound *more* fluent.  That is, speakers use them to avoid silence, while listeners obligingly filter them out of the message, never noticing them (except, of course, when the speaker uses them excessively--then they may become distracting and hence, as you say, 'annoying').
