Women & Filled Pauses

I don't know why, but a majority of those sending feedback to the FPRC are women. And much feedback notes some concurrence with the observation that females tend to use FPs more than males. Please read what others are saying!

98/03/01 - "I wonder if filled pauses might be a male (vs. female)  thing."
98/03/03 - "I noticed a prevalent characteristic of my female peers"
98/03/04 - "the use of 'like' and 'um' in the genders"
98/03/12 - "I'm a 'veteran' of the so-called Women's Movement..."
98/11/10 - "We are...researching the filled paused variation in gender"
